PORSCHE 911 TURBO
The Porsche 911 Turbo (internal designation 930) is the definitive "widowmaker" that turned the 911 into a global supercar icon upon its 1975 release.
The Original Legend: The 930 (1975–1989)
Power & Performance: Originally featuring a 3.0L flat-six engine (260 PS), it was the fastest German production car of its time. In 1978, it upgraded to a 3.3L engine (300 PS) with an added intercooler.
Iconic Design: Instantly recognisable by its "Whale Tail" (later "Tea Tray") rear spoiler, flared wheel arches (12 cm wider than the standard 911), and wide Fuchs wheels.
Raw Driving Experience: Early models used a heavy-duty 4-speed manual transmission to handle the massive turbo lag and torque; a 5-speed was only introduced in its final year, 1989.
